Loxton / Churchill 8kW mk1 Full Brick Set Plain Grate

This full brick set fits the Loxton and Churchill 8kW stove, Mk1 model, built to take the plain grate configuration (282mm x 162mm x 16mm) rather than the alternative EMG grate used on some builds of the same stove. Eurostove's stock records confirm it contains eight bricks — two rear bricks, one baffle brick, two plain-grate base-side bricks, two side bricks and one plain-grate base-rear brick — weighing approximately 6kg altogether, so the whole firebox can be relined from a single order. Fire bricks sit between the fire and the stove's steel or cast iron body, protecting the casing from direct flame contact while reflecting heat back into the firebox rather than letting it escape into the metal, which is what allows the stove to reach and hold an efficient working temperature. With normal use, bricks gradually crack, crumble or thin out through repeated heating and cooling, and once wear is visible across several bricks it's generally more effective to replace the whole set together, keeping the fit and thickness consistent throughout the firebox rather than mixing old and new bricks.
